A DYNAMIC JOURNEY
of growth and connection.
My Story
Aloha! My name is Kerstin Blunt and I am a RYT-certified yoga instructor in beautiful Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, where I’ve been a resident for over 20 years. My background includes teaching dance, gymnastics and physical fitness classes in Germany before spending most of my career as a hotel sales and marketing executive and a competitive runner.
A few years ago, I reached a turning point. I felt a calling away from being a corporate executive and toward being a yogi. As I leaned into this growing need to do something different to serve the world, I continued to practice yoga and was increasingly intrigued by yogic philosophy.
I knew there was something more that I needed to learn, so I committed to the research and was moved to begin training to teach yoga. There is more to yoga than the physical practice: I have discovered that yoga is a lifestyle and as a yoga instructor, I can share that with my students.
I currently teach full-time in local studios and my home-based studio in Kona. And I love guiding my students through each of the unique yoga classes that I offer!
In addition to yoga, I am currently enrolled in Medical Massage School in Kona and look forward to becoming a licensed massage therapist by the end of 2021. Adding massage as a bridge to wellness was a no-brainer for me. If I can make someone else feel better, I am happy!
My Mission…
Wellness is a dynamic journey of growth and connection. And whether you are just finding your way into yoga or you have been practicing for years, I want to be part of your journey. My goal, always, is to help others feel good, inside and out, so you leave my class smiling.
The Spirit of Aloha
Hawaii is such a special place! It has a healing and vibrant energy, and we thrive on the spirit of Aloha, whether you are living or visiting here. And it is that aloha you can experience anywhere in the world, as a vibration of love, compassion, unity, kindness and friendship.
Try to tap into that concept of Aloha as you move, breathe and flow. Practice with kindness to your own body, opening your heart to let the energy flow through and deepening your breath to relax and strengthen your muscles.
Yoga is not just a wonderful physical workout. It is also a “work-in” for your mind, staying focused, creating space, elevating your mood, creating stillness in our mind as our body moves. As the saying goes, yoga is not about touching your toes… It is what we learn on the way down.
